How Can We Help?
Ways we can help is by buying objects like organic, plastic free, chlorine free, free range and local produce. We can also use different types of resources such as paper bags, cardboard boxes, Baskets, Eco bags and weaved bags. After we have used them and they are worn out, YOU can put them in a compost bin with lots of other things that we can reuse and recycle. You can also reduce, reuse and recycle to help, e.g. use plastic bags as bin liners. Everyone can help by telling your friends about what plastic bags do to the environment. Retail Stores
Retail stores can help reduce plastic bag usage in many ways. One way is to charge customers for plastic bags. Some stores are already doing this e.g. Target and Bunnings. Other stores have a reward system for using your own canvas bags. A supermarket in England called Tesco encourages customers to not use plastic bags by giving them points for each canvas bag they use, to exchange for money-off coupons to be used in their store. Another way to help the environment is for retail stores to only use biodegradable bags.
Government
People could ask the Government to pass a law to make factories only produce biodegradable bags and for shops to only use biodegradable bags.
